We designed this site for
NorthCentralWrestling.com, a local high school wrestling team here in Spokane Washington. On this site we
used multiple technologies and plugins to create the desired effect. We used Prototype-Windows for the popup effect for both
pictures and html content. We also used
Plogger (an open-source
photo management plugin) for the photos on the site.
The pictures on the main page are linked to thumbnails created by Plogger when the coach uploaded the
photos. This site was created with the Coach in mind. He wanted to be able to add and edit content himself so templates
were created and he has been able to login to the site via FTP using a program from Adobe called
Contribute.
Contribute is an advanced WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) web editor that allows the coach to make
both simple and complex changes to page content and structure and then upload those changes without ever having to write a
single line of code. Contribute is not the best option out there for all situations, but is has seemed to work quite well in
this situation.
